Safer Internet Day: 10th February 2015 – Let’s create a better internet together

Safer Internet Day: Let’s create a better internet together

On the 10th February 2015, the annual Safer Internet Day will take place with the theme ‘Let’s create a better internet together’.

Celebrated globally in over a hundred countries, Safer Internet Day aims to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially amongst children and young people across the world.

This year’s theme reminds us of our shared responsibility in making the internet a safer and better place. For young people, Safer Internet Day is a chance to celebrate being kind and creative online, while educators, parents and carers can help to empower young people to safely embrace the positive by equipping them with the digital literacy skills they require for today’s world.

How can I get involved?

Every year, hundreds of schools, companies, charities and more, get involved in promoting the day. You can find out more by visiting the Safer Internet Day homepage. Here you can find website banners, logos and ideas about how to get involved.

Educational resources for schools

The UK Safer Internet Centre has created Education Packs for primary age children (3-11s), secondary school age children (11-18s) and parents and carers, to provide lots of great ideas to help schools, youth groups and other organisations get involved in Safer Internet Day.

Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre, Safer Internet Day brings together hundreds of organisations from across the UK in promoting the safe use of technology.
